How did you get that name? The term ‘Floss’ in the street sense is known as ‘showing off’, ‘flashy’ somewhat, in the ‘spotlight’ as defined. I was always that type of person coming up and the characteristic kind of just stuck wit me as the years went by. The ‘Baby’ part came from the females … For some reason everytime i was greeted by a female, they would start off by saying ‘Baby’, like ‘baby whats up’, ‘baby where you going’, or ‘baby how u been’. So i really just put the terms together and it stuck.
What has been your biggest accomplishment?: Music-wise my biggest accomplishment is really making the step to take my music career as serious as I’m taking it now. I’m now more focused and dedicated to it than i have ever been and I’m beginning to see the rewards coming from it.
What has been your most difficult challenge?: The most difficult challenge for me may be the same as for any SC artist … being recognized as a for real artist coming out of this state. We’re the only state in the south-eastern region that hasn’t yet to put a stamp with an artist in this rap game officially. And I mean that as in rotation nationally with songs and videos. Few from here has been signed but never really reached that mark of recognition.
What makes you different?: I think whats sets me aside from the rest is my individuality and my charisma. Like i said before, in the most humble way I feel exclusive. I feel like my music and image can take me to where i need to be. I feel like my team is strong and my support is there. So as i hard as i go, then the harder they go for me. And I’m going hard right now. Because when at the end of the day, the time is now!
What projects are you working on?: I’m currently working on a major Mixtape project. The Mixtape is entitled ‘This How Money Look’ and its hosted by a well-known DJ residing out of Atlanta by the name of DJ Holiday. It’s set to be released in the early part of Spring and is very much so anticipated here in SC, but we’re taking it nationwide with the amount of mixtapes expected to be distributed. We’re working a single right now called ‘Mike Vick’ featuring Tity Boi (2Chainz). Look forward to all videos coming out soon. Up next we’re just promoting and promoting, then moving on the the next step as it occurs in time. 2011 is going to be a big year, so get familiar with the name, you should be seeing it a lot in the near future!
Where are you from originally? : Columbia, SC a.k.a The Metro
How Long have you been making music? : I been making music for years now, but just recently got in a position where i knew it was time for me to take this on full-force and be more serious about it. It’s paying off
What artists inspire you? : I’m inspired by every artist who has become successful in the music business. It motivates me to work harder and strive to where i need to be. So if that’s you, then shouts out to you, salute!!!
How would you define your style of music? : Exclusive. I feel like i have my own sound, my own swag, i just feel like i stand out. Its hard to find someone’s music that isn’t somewhat imitating another person’s style these days. I feel like i bring something different to the table.
What teams are you affiliated with? : My team … Built II Last … that’s anyone who has anything to do with the movement!
Who are some artists that you have worked with? : Some artist I’ve worked with to name a few are J. Futuristic, A.K. of Grand Hustle, Tity Boi aka 2Chainz, etc.
Who would you like to collab with? : Anybody and everybody who makes good music and works hard to promote themselves. Mainstream-wise i would have to say the big names of course someday, Jay-Z, Diddy, T.I., etc. … If you want to shoot for something, why not shoot for the top?
Where do you see the future of music? : I see it progressing as it has been. I also see mine progressing with it.
Where do you see yourself in 1 year? : A year from now, i can see my team and i exactly where we need to be at, and that’s on top! Recognized and already with a preferred major label and doing our own independent label. Business over business
