Leaving 2012 with a bang by an unanimous decision, victory over three-division champion Miguel Cotto on Dec. 1, WBA “regular” 154-pound belt holder, Austin Trout (26-0, 14 KOs) wants to begin 2013 in similar fashion, his preference being a battle with Canelo Alvarez. When there is “no doubt” there is Austin Trout. Trout is definitely a boxer on the rise. He proved that by winning the WBA championship when he squared off against Miguel Cotto. He wants the boxing world to see him get right back in the ring against ranked opponents like Canelo Alvarez and move his way to the top of the Welterweight division. He’s in top shape, he has the tools to break him and he’s convinced he will claim another title, as he easily took down Cotto, and all his previous contenders, obtaining the WBA Championship of the world. With his style and command for respect he’s undoubtedly going to change the face of boxing. As we enter into a new year, the competitors are few, but hopefully they will not be afraid to step up! We all know what’s next, if Canelo Alveraz stops running from “no doubt” Austin Trout another possible defeat. It is rumored Canelo Alverez is requesting to fight Miguel Cotto instead of the Champ Austin Trout. Fear of defeat is obviously in the driver’s seat of Canelo Alvarez’s team. Cotto lost by unanimous decision, put your “Big Boy” pants on Alvarez and get in the Ring !!
