BEDO, a hip hop artist born and raised in Kissimmee, Florida, now signed to KDS music group is determined to change the game with his debut album entitled “Hurting Before Having.” BEDO started writing poetry and music in 6th grade but didn’t pursue it. That all changed after coming home from the 15 month “savage journey” as he refers to it, that changed his perspective on life in 2002.
“I learned that time is precious and every moment you spend doing nothing, is two minutes you could have spent doing something, “says BEDO. Back from his journey, he linked up with Heavy Hitter DJ Prostyle and met an artist by the name of Traffic. Together, they formed All Pro Records. BEDO’s hit single “Go ‘Head and Do It,” produced by K-Lion, went on category ‘A’ rotation on the radio. The video for the song aired on BET uncut, and he even recorded a remix with Chingy and Pitbull. It was his first record ever recorded in the studio, and a great success. A little while after, BEDO felt it was time to move on and do something on his own, and states: “there was no love lost, I just had to do something for myself.”
Not too long after, while recording with K-Lion, BEDO met Tony Wilkins and Steve Ruff, who asked him to do a song with their group TGK. “They loved the record and it’s been on ever since!”
Since an early age, standing at 6’3” and weighing 240 pounds, everyone used to call him big dog. He wanted to differentiate himself from others so he dropped the ‘g’ in big and the ‘g’ in dog and combined the words to form the name BEDO. “The biggest misconception people have about me is that I’m a menace to society. Everybody has a fad they go through. When I was younger – I did a lot of wild sh**, but as you get older you see there’s more to it than just that kind of life. People look at me and they see all my tattoos and gold teeth – but that don’t mean nothing – I had all this before I started rapping! BEDO is the streets! Whether you grinding, working 9-5, or being a deadbeat –my music has something for you! “
BEDO loves to perform and insists that he is not one of these artists that walk around grabbing their crotch! “I sweat so much people throw towels from the crowd. I love what I do and I work hard at it,” says BEDO. His favorite track on his album is called ‘Plain to see,” and tells a story about how it was for him growing up with a single parent and dropping out of school. “It’s the most heartfelt,” insists BEDO.
“The album is called hurting before having, because you always go through a process in your life when you might be at your worst and want to give up -but you got to realize that in life there’s trials and tribulations! You not gonna get nothing in life before going through a big obstacle,” says BEDO.
Hurting Before Having has no features except for minister Farrakhan. “I want to give you all of me, and let people really know who BEDO is, says BEDO. Production credits you can expect to see are the likes of: K-Lion (Grind and Shine records), Phil For Real, the Nasty Beatmakers, The Runners, and more. “My production is crazy! If you don’t like it by song 3- fling it out the window, says BEDO, in a playful yet serious demeanor.
BEDO is coming to you very soon so don’t sleep! The first single, “I’m So Fly,” is soon to be impacting airwaves worldwide! “Shout outs to Pure Cash,” says BEDO as he pulls 10 stacks out of his front right pocket wrapped in a rubber band, smiles and says “Pure Cash!” – For more info log on to myspace.com/ bedotwm1
