How did you get that name? Despite some people thinking we are gang affiliated that is not at all the case. Bloody Bean is a nickname given to the city of Boston(Beantown ) due to the violence that plagues our communities. The ‘Coalition’
Part is based on the fact that we are all different artists coming together with the common goal to put our city on the map. BBCo as we call it for short, consists of 2 duos The Gemini and The Allies, 2 soloists Keys and Prophecy and part time emcee and full time dj/producer Kerosene
What has been your biggest accomplishment? despite being played on local and college radio as well as one of our core members (DJ Kerosene) being awarded at the cities Hip Hop awards, the biggest accomplishment has had to be the high regard and respect that we get from fans and peers alike, for putting out quality music.
What has been your most difficult challenge? the most difficult challenge has been to put out as much music as we would like. Founded by The Gemini and childhood friend Slink Parker, BBCo has always operated independently and been fully funded by the artists themselves by any means necessary. The recession is real but we cant be stopped!
What makes you different? the fact that our music is conceptual and theme driven with focus on lyrics and great production. few nowadays can say they have all the pieces of the puzzle.we can.
What projects are you working on? currently the artists are working on their separate projects. The Allies are working on Remember The Name,The Gemini are working on The Monopoly, Keys is working on Keys Made, Prophecy is working on his next project and is an on-air personality on Blazin 98.9 FM in San Diego,CA and DJ Kerosene is killing ATL’s club scene spinning at numerous hot spots and building with a few industry artists, but we wont jinx that,so we wont talk about it too much..
Where are you from originally? Most of us are from Boston with the exception of Kerosene who is from NY and later OHIO.Culturally we are Dominican,African American and Caucasian..
How Long have you been making music? that ranges from around 7 to over 10 years. ofcourse not all of us have been doing it seriously for that long but we came up rapping and making beats from when it was a hobby to now.
What artists inspire you? only the greats like Big,Pac Pun, Nas, Jay, etc….but we are so tight knit that we inspire each other above all.
How would you define your style of music? despite our range of topics our music is Boston street music. its our slang, our lifestyle, something that hasnt been offered to the masses until we got here and there is so much more to offer.
What teams are you affiliated with? we keep our circle small but we are affiliated with Surefire Music Group whom have produced for various industry acts and most currently produced the bulk of Lisa ‘Left Eye’ Lopes posthumous release. Orlando Fl DEZEL Headbangerz are also affiliates, they are our ‘cousin’ musical family since Nemesis one of their founding members is an extension of BBCo.
Who are some artists that you have worked with? we have worked with several acts. Usual Suspeckts,The Greater Good,211 Wallstreet,Letia Larock,DJ ON&ON,Surefire Music Group,Devamps,Leroi, Dezel Headbangersz etc., etc.
Who would you like to collab with? talented musicians and songwriters..
Where do you see the future of music? if we have our way we see the future of music in Boston, but we see hip hop becoming more accessible and global. we are here to fill the void and become a city to be reckoned with like NY,LA,MIA etc.
Where do you see yourself in 1 year? Our goal a year from now is to make BBCo a more popular brand of music and make even more business connects with our continued networking and work ethic.
Describe yourself in one word: TALENTED
