Raised in the Bronx New York, Derrick ‘Casanova’ Williams has had a life of ups and downs. A product of a single parent household, he never had a male influence which left him to look to the drug infested streets for guidance.

‘Even though I was around that lifestyle I was never involved, my boys sold drugs, but it was never for me, and I never gave into peer pressure and my boys respected me for that.’

Music was always Casanova’s first love, he was in countless bands, took theory classes and learned how to write music. Once he graduated from high school he was on his own. Times got tough and family couldn’t be there so he had to work countless jobs. The only help he had was from his grandmother. But in 2000 she passed from cancer.

‘I think that was the hardest time of my life, she was like my mother and I got really depress for a while.’

Due to the lost of his grandmother, Casanova was in and out relationship, he never wanted to lost someone he loved again and due to his ways with the women in college he was given the name Casanova by his peers.

‘I think the real Giacoma Casanova and myself have a lot in common. He was known for his exploits with the ladies, but he was about so much more. Just like me in a way, people see one side of me, but I am about so much more.’

But with life comes maturity and Casanova learned that he had to change so with a new attitude he knew he should pursue music, since he had had an ear and love for music from a young age.

‘I remember the first time I realized I had an ear. It was Brandy’s ‘I Want to be Down.’ I went to school singing it and everybody thought the song was wack. We all know what happened with that single and her career…it blew up. That always happens to me. I know a song is going to be a hit before it becomes a hit.’

Nevertheless, he formed Society Entertainment after hearing his cousin sing for him in the back of his car.

‘Right then I knew that he would be big, I just had to start something for him.’

But just like all things in life, things didn’t work out for his cousin. He got caught up in the wrong crowd and soon he didn’t want to pursue his music anymore.

‘I tried to talk him back into the music but he didn’t want to anymore. I knew he would have been big, but you can’t force someone to do something they don’t want to do.’

Following his college graduation Casanova moved to Florida, where he met up with ‘Suave’, President of Wilderness Entertainment.

‘We hit it off after I told him my vision. He made me the A&R Director of the whole company. Then we signed a deal with DM records. It was finally happening for me, but I still had Society on my mind and I like being my own boss, so I had to make a decision.’

Casanova went to the president of Wilderness and told him he wanted to start up Society.

Suave right then and there told him yes and gave Casanova a label deal and two of the latest artist that were about to be signed.

‘It was a cool deal because the two artists I was getting were the best in my opinion, and I was the one who discovered them anyway.’

But like everything in life things didnt work out and soon Casanova found himself with out any artist or staff.

‘It was a hard time for me because i didnt have any artist and there were only four of us, and one person we found out was moving. So it was three of us, no artist, no connection, but an ideal.’

Soon Casanova started to mingle with the local talent in Orlando.

It was hard getting in that crowd, people arent very trusting especially if your not from around here’

Soon Casanova started to get to know a lot of major players in the game and soon Society was back in full swing. The company grew and now today it is a parent company to many companies.

‘The dream of Society is finally coming together and i know this is the start of something big’

Now Casanova manages artist, does artist consulting and is a influence in the Florida music scene by helping several artist get signed.

Currently Casanova Manages the biggest boy band in Florida and just linked a deal with Universal Music Group and q Wold Entertainment, has another one of his artist on tour in Europe, has the hottest unsigned boy band in the northeast which there are several deal on te table for, the hottest new artist in Orlando and a lot of other up and coming projects that are sure to make their mark in the industry.

Its all about being consistent with what you put your name behind, I have been fortunate enough to have a success record of finding the best artist and taking them to the next level. I thank god for all he is doing for me.

With his street smarts, music ability, personality and strong work ethic, Casanova is becoming one of the most watched and influential player in the game today. Expect a lot of great things from this young man.

Where can we hear your stuff? He is the CEO of Society Entertainment which has the group 3AM who just got signed to Universal Music Group, Treal label was signed under society entertainment when they put out the song im lock down which he was a part of getting them there deal with universal republic.

How did you get that name? He got his name from college when he pledged his fraternity. He was a ladies man in college

What has been your biggest accomplishment? Helping get treal and deal with universal republic, getting a label deal for 3AM with Universal Music Group and he also has another boy group which is signed to sony red.

What has been your most difficult challenge? His most difficult chanllange was getting into the orlando music scene since he was from new york and alot of people didnt think he understood the downsouth scene

What makes you different? In less than 2 years he has linked two major deals for artist. which no one in orlando has done.

What projects are you working on? Currently he is working on 3AM major debut album, touring with his other male group status blak, working with his new artist that just signed.

How would you define your style of music? Casanova Williams has stated he is  lover of all music and wants his artist to stand out but making good music. He is also venturing into the rock scene as well.

What teams are you affiliated with? Even though Casanova has afflicated is all teams in orlando he does his own thing. He noticed that alot of people jump on certain band wagons to be put on, Casanova has set his own path and his own team.

Where do you see the future of music? Casanova sees Society Entertainment being a major player in the music seen, he is looking o expand his company into different genres.
