What has been your biggest accomplishment? Other than being featured on several mixtapes including a Kay Slay hosted mixtape and getting spins on various radio stations. My biggest accomplishment would have to be performing at the Street Dreams Tour of 2007. My group 3rd Fam and I opened up for Lil Wayne, Young Jeezy, Jim Jones, Lloyd, Collie Budz, Elephant Man, and Damian Marley just to name a few.
What has been your most difficult challenge? After building a strong buzz with my group 3rd Fam an uncontrollable event lead to the interference of our game plan. I was then forced to make a decision towards either moving forward as a solo artist or continuing with the group. Starting over as a solo artist I saw immediate growth and a strong buzz.
What makes you different? Fill a room full with a bunch people wearing white shirts, now picture one individual in the coward wearing a black shirt. My lyrical skill level and versatility is said to be better than most in my region. My choice of topic and production allows me to stand out even more. Rather than making music that works only for a region, I try to make music that will spread worldwide.
What projects are you working on? I am currently promoting The ‘Best of Jemstar’ mixtape which was hosted by Dj Quez of Power 95.3 and Dj Arsonist the Dominican Rudeboy from LMP. Also I’m currently promoting two songs entitled ‘Go get it’ and ‘Attention Span’ feat Ces an up and coming R&B sensation!
Where are you from originally? Born of Jamaican parents in the Bronx, New York.
How Long have you been making music? I have been writing music and recording music for 7 Years.
What artists inspire you? Bob Marley, Jay-z, Biggie, Tupac, Jadakiss, Styles P, Lupe Fiasco, Bounty Killer, Movado, Vybez Kartel, Ariel, Grizz, and the person that made me write my first rhyme my cousin Maestro.
How would you define your style of music? I try to make real music for real people dealing with real life situations. The music tends to have a message or a topic that people can relate to. Coming from New York but raised in Orlando by Jamaican parents all contributed to the versatility of music.
What teams are you affiliated with? 3rd Fam Music Group, The Rat Pack, Soulburner Music Group and Pressure Promotions.
Who are some artists that you have worked with? Ariel, Grizz, Atiba, Ces, Agony , NME, Haz, Goose, Patty, Maestro, Selena, P. ill Getcha, E-cannons and Sinistyle.
Who would you like to collab with? Sizzla, Movado, Vybez Kartel, Bounty Killer, Mary J Blije, Trey Songs, Jadakiss, Keri Hilson, Timbaland, Jay-z, Serani, and Alaine.
Where do you see the future of music? I see the music business going completely digital. Cd’s will become obsolete and radio stations will most likely be all ran through the internet. It has become easier over the years for anyone to become an artist due to technology, so as artists we must find ways to stand out amongst the masses. I also feel within the next decade there will be a new dominating genre of music.
Where do you see yourself in 1 year? I see myself living the dream, and that dream is to use the entertainment business as my main source of income. I feel I make music on the level of a major artist, a record deal is definitely one of my goals. In a year I will also be doing artists development for new acts I will mange and promote under 3rd Fam Music Group.
Describe yourself in one word: Dedicated
