Joe Young

young-joe-053Joe Young has always had an interest in music and at just the tender age of 12 years old Joe began to develop his craft in production, freestyling and song writing. Whilst inspirations persisted Joe found himself not wanting to do anything else but music,

“God blessed me with this talent for a reason, so ima pursue it”-Joe Young

In 1999 with fellow peers Lil Chase, Critical P and Jay Pimpin, Joe began to himself within the mixtape culture and created a buzz within the City with projects including Joe Young & Lil Chase Lights Out VOL 1  “This Iz What Dey Didn’t Want”, which was release through Fast Life Entertainment. Being independent promotional tactics include myspace, radio, clubs and pushing projects on the streets.

It wasn’t long before the group drifted apart and left Joe Young and brother Critical P to hold down the fort. They put together a promotional CD which gained credits from the likes of J-Kwon, Mike Jones and Hump from Sucka Free. Unfortunately just before signing a deal with an independent record label, Critical P decided he no longer wanted to Rap and from that day forward Joe Young began to pursue a solo career.

“I make music that anybody can listen to. I just do me; I really can’t just give a name of the kinda music I make.  It’s what I stand for” -Joe Young

Whilst in studio perfecting his craft daily Joe Young put together his first official mixtape,  “Gettin Money 101-Class Is In Session”, with the Southern Smoke DJ Smallz, which is set for a free online release in February 09. Joe continues to stay consistent with further projects in pipeline and has been performing in clubs in Jacktown, MS and surrounding areas.

“You gotta be doing something if everybody that come across your music says you need to be major and you’re going to be the next to blow from Da Sip (Mississippi). I mean it’s just a blessing to be getting heard”-Joe Young

Joe Young sets his sights high believing by continuing to male great quality music will conclude a status of a platinum selling artist. For now, feeding the streets is his priority and 2009 will be a stock full of ear candy,

“They said Grind or Go Home and I ain’t been Home every since, ima do this till the end”-Joe Youn
