Kalaj Dame

How did you get that name?: th name Collage was given to me at the age of 15 because my personality covers such a broad spectrum.  The spelling was later changed to Kalaj.

Dame is short for Damian taken from St. Damian of Greece who healed people for free and Martyred for his religious beliefs.

What has been your biggest accomplishment?:
Producing and rapping on the unofficial remix for Monica’s ‘So Gone’ back in 2003.

The song became a top club and radio hit in ATL, GA as one of the most requested songs during this period.

The exposure of the song led to a threatening call from representatives of J records

What has been your most difficult challenge?: Finding an honest manager/agent willing to work consistently in my behalf

What makes you different?: Musically I walk the very thin line between commercial and non commercial hip hop. My music style is at times comedic and very entertaining but also contains a positive message.

What projects are you working on?: I am currently working on 2 currently untitled mixtapes, one of which is compiled of my own style of remixes for industry songs. For these remixes i Produce a remix of the original track using some of the original elements and an A capella if available, and blend my own vocal track into the mix.  This style of remixing is called a Pirate mix.
