Lady Lyric

What’s up Lady Lyric. What you been up to? Been putting in some work trying to complete my mix-tape which has been put together by Dj Tito of Core Latino and I am currently pushing my single “I like It” which has been getting air play over seas,  in Japan and on numerous radio stations in different states.

Tell me about growing up in Queens then moving down to the South? Growing up in Queens was not always so easy I grew up real quickly got involved with a lot of street life situations made some wrong choices but, they made me street smart and opened my eyes. Moving to the South was not a easy move pace of life was slower than my everyday hustle but I am now acustomed to it and love where im at.

How did it mold you into the person you are today? It just made me a tougher chick learned how to grind on my own. I see things different work harder for what I want.

What females MC’s did you look up to growing up? Queen Latifah, MC Lyte,  Lauren Hill all positive females in the game at that time.

What do you think of the state of females in the game today? I do not think a lot of them take the game serious for example Ghost Writers which truly means they are not putting their heart onto a track nor expressing how they truley feel which means they are not creative enough or are just actresses reading a scripts. Don’t get me wrong I don’t feel all of the females in the game are that way but the majority are and that I cannot respect. But, then again I must say no a days it’s not just females in the game it goes both ways.

Any female MC’s out there who you think shouldn’t be rapping at all? I think every individual has the right to do what they feel. I may feel someone shouldn’t be spitten but, the next person may think that person is the truth. Who I do like however is Charlie B More, Shawnna, Lil Kim and a few others.

How do you feel about female’s that use their sex appeal to sell records? Get that paper if that works for you and you got it then “FLAUNT IT”

You linked up with Bum Squad Djz how did that come about? Well, how that came about was Dj Latin prince who is the Founder of Bum Squad Djz had his ear to the streets heard about me and we connected he recpects my grind and loves what I do and I love the movement. Bum Squad is a family and they all welcomed me in with open arms I am very proud to be a part of the Family.

How is it being the only female over at Pure Cash Entertainment which I understand is who manages you? That is correct I am managed by Pure Cash Ent. It’s all good Dirt Po and Cash are my brothers they look out for the chick but most importantly I hold it down on my own I am a well rounded artist not just “A Female Emcee”

What’s next for Lady Lyric? Right now I am just focusing on me trying to get what I already have out and heard. Also looking into doing some independent films get my acting on a little bit trying to hustle my way through the door.

Tell me about your new mixtape which will be dropping soon. Street life/Real life through my eyes from my heart and also some party joints to make you wanna move your body *laughs* it’s just a little intro to what’s coming next.

Lady Lyric thanks for your time is there anything else you would like to share with us or any one you would like to shout out? Just stick with the chick I got a lot of things cooking right now. Big ups to everyone who holds me down on the daily.
