Myles P is…… Ready. Ready to take on the responsibility of saving the hip hop and rap from all the other so called artists polluting the game.
How did you get that name?: Myles P comes from my actual name which is Leonard Myles Pedroso, everyone seems to be changing their names in the business. I ask why do you want to change who you are so badly. That is why mine will forever remain my own.
What has been your biggest accomplishment?: I don’t know if I could name just one. Everything that I’ve been involved in seems huge and I appreciate it all.
What has been your most difficult challenge?: The most difficult challenge is balancing a career in music with my educational life as well. I am currently paying my own way through college attempting to achieve the dream of a higher education as well as a successful music career.
What makes you different?: The difference between myself and a lot of other artists out there I have been noticing is that I am doing this all on my own. My manager and I are trying to balance school and music all on our own no, outside influence with parents or big management firms. Only us, making music that is real. I am not trying to go along with the mainstream or the underground scene or be something I am not. I just write things that mean something to me, and by staying real I have found that more people are able to relate to my lyrics more in their daily lives.
What projects are you working on?: Currently I am working on my next mixtape that should drop later on this year. A title has not been picked for it, but I have been on my grind these past few weeks writing and recording writing and re recording until everything is perfect.
Where are you from originally? : I rep the 607 which is Binghamton New York.
How Long have you been making music? : Really not to long, I started spitting for my friends the summer after my senior year year of high school which I graduated in 2008. Then I met my manager Michael Christine when I went off to college and he believed that I was good and could do something big with my songs. So almost a year after meeting having this conversation with Mike, here we are.
What artists inspire you? : A lot of different people in a lot of different genres. I really just enjoy good music, but if your looking for names I guess you could say, Drake, Kid Cudi, Lupe, The New Boyz, Brand New, Biggie, Lil Wayne, Red Hot Chili Peppers, etc.
How would you define your style of music? : I would say I am apart of the new movement going on in the hip hop and rap genres. Transitioning away from the gangster and thug mentality to the new smart, intelligent style.
What teams are you affiliated with? : Right now like I said its just my manager and I. We affiliate ourselves with a few like Soundloft Studios, Make Entertainment, etc.. But for the most part I am focusing on putting my own team together.
Who are some artists that you have worked with? : I have opened up for Ghostface KIllah and Wiz Khalifa. I have worked with artists like James Wade, IMG, Delirium, and more to come.
Who would you like to collab with? : The list is a long one. If I was forced to pick someone I’d say I would like to collab with Lupe because I like his sound and his intelligent lyrics. He creates catchy flows with interesting hooks as well as his different approach to each song he does.
Where do you see the future of music? : I see the future of music being more technical. I see the fans taking over music and deciding what the next big thing is through the internet. Straying away from Albums I see mixtapes becoming bigger and more widely listened to.
Where do you see yourself in 1 year? : Honestly I can not tell you. A year ago I could not see myself where I am now so hopefully a year from now I look back and continue being surprised by everything that has happened.
Describe yourself in one word. : I am the best thing people have not heard yet.
Any shout outs? : Shout out to all my friends and family. To my manager Michael Christine, as well as all my fans who support my music.
