Every now and then I get introduced to an artist or record that hits immediately, and the Funk infested new single “Noted” by Playya 1000 and The Deeksta is definitely one of those records.

This superb record is reminiscent of the classic West Coast G-Funk sound that is sadly missed in todays music game. The music industry has become obsessed with 808s and trap beats, that there really isn’t much variation out there.

The duo are; Playya 1000 who is the emcee, and Deeksta who delivers the beats. On the streets they are known as 1-Gee and Deeks. This has really made me want to check out their previous work, and find out more.

The music video is high quality, and well directed, but at first it seemed like a documentary, where the record kicks in at the 1 minute mark. “If you noted, they know know hwo are you, when you step through the door you the life of the party” he croons effortlessly. This feel good, summertime jam is definitely going to be setting parties off this year, I’m damn sure it will be a BBQ anthem for some too.
