Pretty Ricky, the R&B Kings of love and sex and the bedroom, announces that they have a brand-new mix tape, “Sex Music, Vol. 1,” set for release on the group’s spokesperson, Diamond “Baby Blue” Smith’s, birthday, August 13, 2011. In addition, the popular Floridian quartet consisting of Baby Blue, Spectacular, Slick ‘Em and Deanda, aka Lingerie, who has released two platinum selling CD’s in the past, is in the process of putting the finishing touches on “Blue Stars 2,” slated for release on Bluestar Records in 2012, but decided to whet their fans’ thirsty musical appetite by giving them something sensual and sexy in advance of the highly anticipated album. “We decided to use the sex theme for our mix tape because it just seems that our most popular records are also the most sensual records. The fans tell us what they want and what they like; that’s the beauty of dealing with the Internet. The sex songs are what keep us constantly trending on twitter.com, so we’re just giving the fans what they want to hear.”
According to Spectacular, the mix tape “is on that Baby Making tip.” And from the streets to the sheets, Pretty Ricky is ready to satisfy its audience, in every way possible.
The mix tape features “Topless,” which is already a radio favorite featuring Snoop Dogg and fellow Floridian Trick Daddy. “Snoop heard the song and loved it. As a result, we have since made some appearances on some of his music as well, including the song ‘Cutie Pie.’ Another mix tape song that will be a big hit is “Honeymoon Sex,” which incidentally, is the kind of music Pretty Ricky does best. “We’re gonna get couples preggo with this song,” DeAnda predicts. A third song, strictly for the grown and sexy is “Pac Man,” a playful ode to the iconic video game. “The song ‘Pac Man: Your Body’ is the type of song that has a double entendre. What we mean by that is Pac Man is going to eat all the fruit.”
The group, who has been performing sell-out shows around the world, and initially signed to Atlantic Records, now operates independently through their own label, Bluestar Records, out of Miami, Florida. They plan to continue their viral presence with videos for the aforementioned songs along with “Knocking Your Heels Off,” featuring H-Town (the original artists for “Knocking Boots”) along with Jodeci. This video will premier at http://WorldStarHipHop.com. and the group plans to add to their viral presence by releasing a series small vignettes, featuring members of Pretty Ricky in various settings, including the studio. Fans of the out front member Spectacular will be able to view him in the gym and learn more about his plans for his forthcoming solo album.
