How did you get that name? It was random. One day I said I was the remedy in regards to solving everybody’s problems and I decided it fit me. I always feel like I’m the answer.
What has been your biggest accomplishment? A cross between being nominated for the Orlando Hip Hop Awards twice and being featured on Yo!Raps Magazine.
What has been your most difficult challenge? Completing, promoting, and distributing a mixtape completely ALONE. I have been an independent artist in the most literal sense ever since I began making music. Its a lot of work and extremely hard work trying to make moves with out a team behind you to lend a helping hand. However, it made me stronger and smarter as a person; it also increased my knowledge in regards to the industry from a business perspective.
What makes you different?: My ability to create what I feel. When you look at some artists, its hard to tell if they are making what they feel or if they are following the blueprint that they percieve to be the formula for success. I make music from my soul, and I don’t focus on making what other people are making. I’m extremely versitile and diverse in my craft…that’s why my mixtape series has been named ‘Changing Faces’. There are many sides to Remedy.
What projects are you working on? My mixtape series ‘Changing Faces’ is my main focus right now. The first of the series is set to drop this summer of 2011.
Where are you from originally? Syracuse, NY
How Long have you been making music? I’ve been serious about pursuing my music career for 6 years. But I’ve been involved with music since I was a baby.
What artists inspire you? Reality inspires me. My emotions that result from every day life drive my creativity. Music is the only effective way of conveying my thoughts and ideas to other people. I feel like its my only connection to majority of mankind on an intellectual level.
How would you define your style of music? Complete. That’s about the only label I can find for it. I might also label it undescribable. My style is limitless and has no boundaries. I go against the grain and like to step out of the status quo.
What teams are you affiliated with? CollectiV Movement, KellyTV, and Wilderness Ent are my main affiliates as of right now.
Who are some artists that you have worked with? I’ve worked with a number of people. I’ve worked with Stefon4u, Clint Dawg, Honey D, Dolly, Chevy Blue, Killah Kelz, Skyy High, Quent Aleem, Fluggie, etc. The list goes on and on.
Who would you like to collab with? I would love to work with more artist who are on the come-up in other areas. I’ve recently heard a lot of artist overseas that have caught my ear who’d I love to work on some projects with. From a mainstream stand point though, I’d love to work with Eve, Currensy, Chris Brown, Willow Smith and Big Sean right about now. I’d also like to have Ryan Leslie, Swizz Beatz and Pharell get at me on the production tip…those guys are WICKED!
Where do you see the future of music? I see the future of music transforming like it always does.
Where do you see yourself in 1 year? I see myself graduating from underground to mainstream. My goal is to grace the BET awards, VMA’s, 106nPark, etc by next year!
Describe yourself in one sentence: I am the Remedy, I am the Franchise.
Any shout outs? The entire CollectiV Movement, KellyTV, Wilderness Ent, Iconic Emage, 2iG Productions, my producers, and everybody who supports me! I love my supporters!
