Blaze Berry

“I’m More then just looks. I am an interesting person to get 2 know. I guarantee I’ll keep you very entertained by my sexual silliness!”

Talented Singer/Rapper/Songwriter, BLAZE was born on November 26, 1983. She is a mix of Philipina and African American. She writes lyrics for her own music. A Panama City, FL native born Ronika Penton has always had a love for music. She began writing poems in middle school as a form of  therapy. BLAZE didn’t really have an interest in TV or playing games or associating with many people as a child. After school, she can remember after finishing her school work, she would reward herself with music. Her mother and father had a stereo system that was taller then her, she’d turn the radio on and listen to music for hours everyday while her siblings would do other activities. She states ‘Adolescence is when you go through the biggest transformation in your life. I.E, crushes, heartbreaks, really falling in love, your first kiss, friendships and dealing with peers, that’s when you begin to find out who you really are as a person.’ As she would write her poems, they would transform into lyrics. BLAZE also mentions that her poems/lyrics were very personal. She didn’t share them with just anybody. ‘I can recall, sitting in class writing my poems and using this numerical/alphabetical code that my friends and I created this to write notes back and forth. That way if somebody found it, they couldn’t figure it out. I still use that code today when I write in public! I’ve kept every little thing that I wrote in school up to this day!’ BLAZE Co A New Flava To Tha Game’ is very self explanatory. I have a love for all genres of music, whether it is Hip Hop, R&B, Rock, Club Music, Rap. Music should be fun and captivating. I make music that people can relate to. People like things that are new and different-You have to be able to gain your audiences full attention within the first few minutes and then you’re sold! I don’t have a targeted selection of listeners that I want. My goal is to gain the attention of anyone going through a situation that I put in to my music. Music should make you feel good and positive.’ BLAZE has also done a few other projects during her up rise. She’s modeled for night club flyers and was also in a music video documentary for the summer of 2009 for the Tallahassee rapper: MBEEZY. Her work here is not done yet. Be on the lookout for this young artist! BLAZE-coming soon….

http://www.myspace.com/499833025

How did you get that name?

Im Half Black/Half Filipino (asian)I used 2 go by Blazian Chic but Blaze was a lil more catchy. But-there are wayyyyy too many ‘blazes’ out there but there’s only 1 Blaze Berry. Alot of people say Im sweet and Halle’s last name is Berry and she’s sexy. What a perfect fit for me!
What has been your biggest accomplishment?: Making it on BET 2010!
I was the winner of a dating show for Spring Bling 2010 called ‘Third Wheel’

What has been your most difficult challenge?

To over become betrayal. It’s hard to fish out the real from the fake. I meet alot of people. They offer 2 help me promote myself and help me with musical material. Ive been stabbed in the back so many times, I just figured if I want something done…. Imma do it myself.

What makes you different?

Im a funny person. Most people will look at me and think ‘oh, she’s stuck up’. When they take the time 2 conversate with me, they’re like ‘wow, ur really nice’.
U ever heard of the Original Ganster? Well I am the Original Prankster. I love love love playing jokes on people. Even if Im the only one laughing in the end. In 24 hours, I probably spend 2 whole hours thru out the day laughing. I love life and I love 2 make people feel comfortable. Im not gonna lie, I think of myself as  a fantasy girl but Im really down 2 earth and that’s a wonderful combo!

What projects are you working on?

I am an artist. I write music everyday. I rap, I sing, and I model. Im always working on one or more of the above. Everyday is work for me!

Where are you from originally?

I was made in the Philipphines. (I have a barcode tattooed on my arm saying ‘made in the Philipphines’)
But I was born and raised in Panama City Florida. My only other home was my mom’s womb for 9 mos!

How Long have you been making music?

Ive been writing music ever since middle school.

What artists inspire you?

Everything inspires me to write. Love, crushes, breakups, cheating, being happy, missing someone. I go thru those feelings quite frequently. What I write is kinda like a personal journal.
I love poetry. I can write about anything. Seriously! I wrote a poem about oysters and another about tree frogs by my door and about different flavors of ice cream. Writing is my passion!

How would you define your style of music?

My style is like myself :funny! I want u to be able to enjoy what your listening to. I dont talk about killing people, robbing banks. My music is purely for entertainment.
I have some sexual songs, and club bangers and songs about swag.

Where do you see the future of music?: Music is a whole lot different then what it was 20 years ago. I think back then music had more meaning to it. We werent distracted by videos. We were able to actually listen to the song. Now we focus more on sex appeal rather then the actual music. People dont buy music anymore. It’s downloaded for free on websites, uploaded on youtube. Music still has meaning but I feel like it was taken more serious back in the 80’s and before.

Where do you see yourself in 1 year?  I see myself being a writer for other artists and having my music out for the whole world to hear and see.

Describe yourself  : I am an amazing, caring, loving, funny, beautiful  person inside and out who has goals in life that will be met in due time.

Any shout outs? Shout outs My Heavenly Father who’s always there 2 catch me when I fall, and forgives me when Im wrong. Also  Rebel Black, P.G. H-Cane
