For this edition of PICK and DUSSY, I decided to attack a new trend amongst young women: Being the “side chick.” With the media glorifying men as players and society viewing faithful men as punks, some women have decided to accept the inevitable and date taken men. I have been told that being the side girl for many women has proven to be more exciting, glamorous, and even more profitable than the main girl role. So to PICK and DUSSY readers I’ve got to ask: “Is monogamy dead? And if so, have women dug its grave?”
Once up on a time it was a huge embarrassment to be second in a man’s life; I wanted to find out what the appeal was so I interviewed two females who came forward as re-occurring side chicks. We will refer to girl #1 as Cole Slaw, and girl #2 as Macaroni. Both girls are infamous for dating taken guys and make no excuses about it so I asked them: “Why do you do it?”
Macaroni:  I just love the thrill, and guys that are attached do what ever you want because they are so scared of getting busted.
Cole Slaw:  Yeah and the sex is always crazy, especially if you do freaky stuff their girl doesn’t do.

Both girls told me that they have gotten many gifts from their men from designer bags, shoes and clothes, to their bills being paid. Being a side chick started to sound very appealing. I wondered if there were any draw backs to this situation, so I asked them: “Is there a down side?”
Cole Slaw: Yeah, the worst part is when you see all your friends getting engaged and moving in with their men and you know that will never happen with your guy. It makes you wonder if the excitement of it all is worth it.
Macaroni:  I would say the holidays are the worst because that is usually the time that guys spend with their girl, the one the family knows. I’ve learned how to deal with that though; all I have to do is act up really bad just before. Usually I get some flowers and a better gift that the main girl, just to keep me quiet.”

After talking with both side chicks, Cole Slaw said she was tired of her position and was going to try to give her man an ultimatum and become his main girl. Macaroni on the other hand revealed that she had two other guys her self that lived in different cities and is happy with the way things are going right now.

With the insight from these two I have to conclude that men are only as good as their opportunities and with women opening their hearts and legs to taken guys they are either furthering the advancement of players or they are joining them at their own game.
Here are a few tips for all of my current or potential side chicks in order to stay ahead of   the game:
Make sure you have access to him at all times but don’t let him be able to reach you whenever he wants!
Don’t spend a dime on him; you are on his budget not yours!
Gets his girlfriend’s number from his phone with out him knowing so that if he really pisses you off you can have one up on him.
Stay safe –ALWAYS use condoms. You never know if you’re the ONLY side chick!
Date other guys at least once a month so that he knows that he is replaceable.
ALWAYS LOOK SEXY!  Main girls get comfortable and tend to look frumpier with time.

For the taken men who are currently juggling a main girl and a side girl here is a guide of what to get your side chick for the holidays and which holiday to spend with her:
Christmas- spend this holiday with your main girl, but get your side chick some thing either very romantic or sexy, girls judge how much you like them off of what type of gift you get them. Example: lingerie hugs and kisses jewelry, and of course you can never go wrong with diamonds!
New Years Eve- Spend this holiday with your main girl, but do make plans for New Year’s Day with your side chick. When a new year comes around people try to kick bad habits so by spending the first day of the year with her you’ll ensure her that ditching her is NOT one of your new year’s resolutions.
Valentine’s Day-  Plan to have lunch (or breakfast) with your side chick and dinner with your main chick.  You better set this one up way in advance so start making a plan right NOW!
Thanksgiving: Handle this one just like Valentine’s Day (see above).
Birthdays – Hopefully for you your main girl and side- chick will not have the same birthday!  YOU MUST SPEND BIRTHDAYS with each one of your girls!
Anniversaries – This one should not be a problem at all! If you are dumb enough to have the same anniversary with your side chick as you do with your main chick, you should retire your player jersey!
Helpful Tip: Throughout the year if you have a side chick, expect them to try to end things or threaten you about leaving (this is normal). For the most part you should never beg or plead, let them leave and give them a cooling off period. Remember that if they stuck it out with you this long – there is something about you that they REALLY like!  Call them in two weeks and it will be as if you pressed the reset button on your PS3 all over again – game on!
